Document review

Review the document before choosing the wrong service.

Use this page when the document already exists and you need the next step confirmed before paying for notarization, apostille, legalization, certified-copy handling, recipient correction, or paid consulting. Free review means a first-pass route check from the file and facts provided, not an open-ended consultation call.

What to send

The useful answer comes from the file and destination.

Send the current document, the destination country or receiving party, and any rejection notice or written instruction. If the document was already notarized, include the notarized version exactly as it exists now.

Quick review is meant to identify the next route from the document and written facts. It may lead to online notarization, apostille handling, legalization review, certified-copy work, a corrected notarial certificate, paid consulting, or a decision that the issuing office must be used instead.

Notary Geek is built differently. We usually answer faster from the actual document and signer path than from a long pre-check conversation. Start with the free ID check or the right intake form. If the request turns into recipient strategy, apostille risk, fraud review, or troubleshooting why another platform failed, that may need paid review.

Complex document consulting

Some questions are not part of a basic notary session.

If your issue involves a signer outside the United States, a failed platform attempt, recipient rejection, fraud concern, prior bad notarization, unusual ID facts, apostille uncertainty, or a detailed “is this valid” question, Notary Geek may still be able to help. That is a review or consulting matter, not a low-cost notary-only session.

There is no fee to start basic intake or to see the signer flow. We usually answer faster from the actual document and signer path than from a long pre-check conversation. A fee applies when you need custom analysis, written explanation, unusual routing, a call to discuss your facts, or back-and-forth consulting beyond quick triage.

Good fit for paid review

“We have a signer in China and already tried several platforms.”

“The recipient rejected the notarized document.”

“We need to know whether apostille or legalization is needed.”

“There may be fraud, identity misuse, or a bad notarial act.”

Choose the lane

Review is not the same as upload, ID validation, or Form 1583.

These paths are intentionally separate so customers do not get pushed into the wrong workflow.

Review

Existing document or rejection

Use review for already notarized documents, rejected files, apostille-bound documents, recipient instructions, or route confusion.

Important boundary

Quick review is not legal advice or unlimited consulting.

Notary Geek can review document routing, notarial-certificate issues, apostille readiness, legalization questions, identity-workflow fit, and practical recipient problems. We do not provide legal, tax, immigration, banking, formation, residency, or address-acceptance advice.

If the next step becomes more than quick route triage, support may quote a paid review or consulting fee before continuing. Price-shopping a basic notary session is different from asking for custom document-risk analysis. Sending a document for review does not include a free call to talk through every possible outcome.

Common review outcomes

Notarize first, then apostille.

Use the issuing office instead of notarizing a copy.

Correct the certificate or get a fresh signature.

Send for apostille or legalization handling.
